When you think of women in an athletic community, your mind may not immediately drift to an amateur football team, so I was pleased to meet a member of the Nevada Storm who is tackling the financial services industry and football. During our interview I noticed her arm was full of bruises while she hurled out 55 financial services term faster than I’ve ever heard anyone describe. She is an intense banker, tackle and woman wrapped into one powerhouse of a woman.
She is convening athletes to join her community, to recruit others and to help spread the word, even if you don’t live in the market or have no interest in the game. She is passionate and driving the community membership one conversation at a time. I believe with core leaders like her, who have enthusiasm, spirit and commitment; you certainly have many of the building blocks to launch a successful program.
